Stupid stupid chavs

Stupid stupid chavs

Postby Mixed grill on Mon 26 Mar 2012, 12:17 am

23.30 here in Derby and what do we have - 3 rather drunk chavs cans in hand none of whom looked old enough for a shandy but never mind.

After shouting random sware words while walking down the road they then take it upon themselves to throw around the cones from the roadworks taking place in our road before going on to pull 2 bins of a lamp post and empty the contents all over the road.

Now I like a drink and a bit of fun and im sure most people on here do but can anyone explain how becoming that drunk or acting like that is funny or what the point is.

Maybe im getting old in my views but to be honest I just sat thinking the lads were total morons the 3 lads were laughing and joking and seemed to be acting as if they had done no wrong.

Personally, I would of photographed the incident making sure I got good shots of the perpitrators faces. Obviously doing so from inside the house without flash and the lights out not to attract attention.

Id then pass the photos on to the police and the local newspaper. Publically shame them as, in my experience, the parents think butter melts in their mouths.

Last night it appeared that four of them were trying to communicate using the horns on their mopeds, right outside my bedroom window. It's the inconsiderate culture of today that really grinds my gears, the vast majority do not care for or take a second to think about others.

It's a sad state of affairs

My response would be that it'll get worse. These lower orders are the ones breeding at a prolific rate, subsidised by the State, dumbing down the gene pool and incapable of eductating their offspring. There'll be a new species of SuperChav before you know it.

I do not know if the remark is predictable or not. I think the first sentence is undeniable. Until and unless today's children are better educated culturally and socially nothing will change. And because a large minority of today's teenagers are leaving school lacking basic educational qualifications and social skills and cultural awareness, their children will suffer too. So there might be two more generations before the rot might stop.

I think that kind of attitude is half of the problem. Yes, their are SOME who leave school, but it seems that many are simply writing off the entire generation as useless and its this general lack of belief and support that leads SOME into not trying at school and then turning to drink and crime. There are thousands of teenagers and young people who succeed at studies and go one to achieve university degrees and jobs.

But yes, I think the rubber bullets should be used on some of them....

I would like to point out that calling someone a Schemie you are in danger of tarring people with the same brush! I consider myself a schemie and have taken the choice of getting work and staying in work for all of my 24 working years so far.

And if it is possible i have added to the lower quality gene pool with my 4 children, why am i currently listening to my eldest daughter playing Vivaldis Toccata in D Minor on her cornet, a tune i always wanted to play when i was her age but couldnt!

I said "large minority", because I am aware that the majority of youngsters are diligent, responsible and educated. But it is always the minority, large or small, who spoil it for the rest.

Plus one. I'm not so sure it is just the education system, to me it seems more to do with society as a whole just rolling over and accepting it. Correct me if I'm wrong but does France, Germany or Italy suffer the same plague of tools?

In August, I think the riots were the first I have ever seen (or hopefully will see) anywhere, during any period that were completely without cause. :hide:

Italy, I am unfamiliar with, but have spent a great deal of time in France and Scandinavia over the last 40 years - a bit less in Germany, and although they have their yobbish behaviour, in general I have a sense of far greater social cohesion in those countries. And I believe the single most significant reason for it is that the family remains the core group whereas our social and cultural policies of the last 10/20 years have tended to divide and diminish the family as an entity.

Schemie is the Edinburgh parlance equivalent of the Glaswegian "Ned",Have no idea what the Dundonian or indeed Aberdonian is,but I am aware the English parlance is Chav.I remember what they used to be called when I was at school before "Schemie" became widely used, those lowlives/dropouts were known as "Tregs" So if as you have interpreted I have painted people from a "housing scheme or estate" with the same brush,it unfortunately has been lost in translation.Nothing wrong with Schemes or Estates as technically that is what they are called.

So in other words someone from a Council Estate, or what the Americans would call Projects? To the Council in this part of the world the word 'scheme' is used to describe sheltered housing. Don't get too many problems from those folks round here!

I have to deal with the general public a lot with work, and find that some people from the above mentioned housing areas are straight off the jeremy kyle show, and can be very abusive, think the world owes them something people, where others live on the same estates and really are hardworking, family orientated people who have been branded as chavs due to where they live.

Of course thast is true - we are too fond of tarring people with the same brush. But your key phrase is about the world owing something; I have assumed you mean they think the world owes them a living, and that is the root of the problem.

I got that impression after a conversation i heard on the bus the other day, where a couple of lads sat at the back basically said ''why should we work if we dont have to after all benefits keep us in fags and beer'' I dont think thats the whole root of the problem, but that attitude has to surley be a factor.

We do tarr people with the same brush, I work in the bus industry and my drivers are called allsorts of things simply beacuse they drive a bus.
