It's a sad state of affairs

My response would be that it'll get worse. These lower orders are the ones breeding at a prolific rate, subsidised by the State, dumbing down the gene pool and incapable of eductating their offspring. There'll be a new species of SuperChav before you know it.

I do not know if the remark is predictable or not. I think the first sentence is undeniable. Until and unless today's children are better educated culturally and socially nothing will change. And because a large minority of today's teenagers are leaving school lacking basic educational qualifications and social skills and cultural awareness, their children will suffer too. So there might be two more generations before the rot might stop.

And if you're one of those that's not for university and exams...
And therin lies half the problem.
I think that kind of attitude is half of the problem. Yes, their are SOME who leave school, but it seems that many are simply writing off the entire generation as useless and its this general lack of belief and support that leads SOME into not trying at school and then turning to drink and crime. There are thousands of teenagers and young people who succeed at studies and go one to achieve university degrees and jobs.
But yes, I think the rubber bullets should be used on some of them....

Plus one. I'm not so sure it is just the education system, to me it seems more to do with society as a whole just rolling over and accepting it. Correct me if I'm wrong but does France, Germany or Italy suffer the same plague of tools?
In August, I think the riots were the first I have ever seen (or hopefully will see) anywhere, during any period that were completely without cause.
