Well as soon as I heard the wise words of Oxbridge millionare (and part time petroleum spirit storage consultant) Francis Maude, I cleared out my garage (apart from the fireworks, Swan matches and paint thinners), went down to Halfords to buy up their entire stock of jerry cans and waited for 4 hours with all the other sensible people to fill up. On arriving home, I realised that I had driven 1/2 a mile and so my tank was dangerously close to half empty. Then, I saw on TV more people filling up and had a mild panic attack that my stocks were too low. So I gatherd every other suitable container in the house( pans, sherry glasses, buckets, thimbles, upside down Lego bricks, children's cupped hands etc) and went back to double my stock. Even now, I am having trouble sleeping with the worry on my low stock levels and will be carefully monitoring the media for the next sound piece of advice offered by Mr Maude.
So glad this this great country is governed by such clever (did I mention Oxbridge?) and sensible people.
sleep tight everyone
There will come a time when our descendents will be amazed that we did not know things that are plain to them
