I had heard some comments that the D7000 was slow to focus, never had that problem though. I think it's slightly better than my D300 on first try.
Here's a few with some info:-
1/200th @ 300mm
1/200th @ 300mm
1/200th @ 500mm
1/200th @ 350mm
1/100th @ 150mm
Into sun 1/125th @ 400mm
Into sun 1/125th @ 300mm
Into sun 1/125th @ 300mm
It got a bit silly then:-
Into sun 1/80th @ 500mm - not quite sharp enough but not too bad.
Finally
1/125th @ 500mm
Not a bad start, just more practice handling the larger lens I think.
