Are the Black cats flying as a duo or as a single like last year?

Thats the odd thing they have vanished off Flightlines Southend preview!

I'm sure it said Lynx x2

now back on there and as a pair!

I see Duxford has bagged the Belgium F16 for its show on the 27th.

Come on Southend,Share the the cost just like the old days with Mildenhall,You won't get a better chance.

Golden Apple's Sabre has been added to the line up.

Anyone know whether anything will be operating from the airport this year?

Its based at Duxford and is displaying at Duxford on the Sunday so very unlikely it will operate from Southend.

I fear that probably most of the RAF will be based at Duxford for the weekend apart from the Typhoons that normally base themselves at Manston??

With the Sabre not getting off the ground yet this year and being taken off the Duxford participants can we assume it wont be ready for Southend then?

Odd that 2011 - no main sponsor just council funding - Vulcan booked
2012 - Easyjet lead sponsor - no star items (as I write)...

The show needs a bit more burner - as mentioned, the BAC Viper would be nice!!

Unfortunately I don't think they'll be many enthusiasts at Southend due to the clash with Duxford and a better line up.

Southend both days for me, simple reason cost.

No travel expenses (10min walk to seafront)
Free to view even with a discounted ticket Duxford is still £16

It will only be the enthusiasts that head to Duxford the familys that see it as a cheap day out will still head for Southend over Duxford not just on grounds of cost but the extra facilitys and attraction Southend has, if the Kids get bored with the flying take them to peter pans Playground, down the Pier of into the arcades. The Southend show has never been aimed at the enthusiast it has always been a family show.
