54Squadron Jaguars
Sadly missed by many , this is a selection of slides of the first UK based squdron to disband on this most versatile and cost effective mud mover used by the RAF . As I am in the process of scanning all of my Jag slides there maybe a few more to come in the not to distant future .
All of these were photographed between 1976 and 2005 , further details can be found in the image code/URL .

Thanks for posting those shots. It just reminded me of some good times I had at Colt
Re: 54Squadron Jaguars
Great stuff Fred! Have you got any more of XX723? Either when it was 'GG', 'GQ' with 54 Sqn or when it was '05' at 226 OCU. Many thanks.

Half as much as I'd give to see the Jaguar back in RAF service. Lovely set as always

I miss Coltishall. Wish i had spent a lot more time there. I have very few Cammo shots of Jags. Like these shots though.
Pessimists are never dissapointed.

Never get enough of these kind of topics!
Re: 54Squadron Jaguars
A terrific set of shots. Loss of Coltishall and soon after, the Jag itself, were sad days. Coltishall was a fabulous place to photograph - that rickety old wooden fence by the threshold. I did my high school work experience with 54 in April 1995 and had a magnificent week. One particularly memorable afternoon was spent outside the approach controllers caravan with my old 35mm camera photographing the many arrivals and departures.
Thanks for a super post

Re: 54Squadron Jaguars
Excellent, thank you very much for sharing these. I was at Lossiemouth with a Harrier detachment in 1974 that coincided with the entry into service celebrations for the Jaguar. We scruffy Wittering lot thought it highly amusing that as soon as it looked like raining, the line-up of shiny new RAF and French AF Jaguars was hurriedly put back in the hangar - not before I'd photographed them all though!

Stunning, thanks for posting!

Re: 54Squadron Jaguars
One of my favourite aircraft was the Jag,a welcome regular in the 70s/80s airshows....
I have a great memory of visiting Abingdon airfield(late 70s?)standing near the end of the main runway, having the thrill of a Jaguar right overhead to land using the chute....

Re: 54Squadron Jaguars
Great shots. I will have to point these in the direction of my brother as he was on 54 from 2001 until it disbanded in 2005.
Re: 54Squadron Jaguars
This is my favourite post as the Jag is the most beutiful jet I have worked on and all of those are mainly museum types now, but at one time they were all front line but they still can't touch the Jag, she's shapely and just drop dead gorgeous. for the thread, if you have anymore keep them coming many thanks
