NAS Fallon - October and January, picture heavy

Post by sln »

I had the opportunity to visit NAS Fallon back in October last year, and again in January this year.

Here is a mixed bag of pictures from my visits. I'll just let the pictures do the talking...

Too many good ones to pick from but particularly drawn towards the "RESCUE" MH-60S? Great stuff all round

One of the most impressive threads I've seen on the forums for a good while. Beautiful crisp shots - very hard to pick a favourite. The low aspects are very effective and for subject matter, the EP-3 is great to see, as are those stunningly smart Growlers in the colourful paintschemes. The Hawkeye looks fantastic also. As I said, hard to pick a favourite!......

Hats off - a cracking post :worship:

WOW  I don't think I've ever been so amazed at the content of a set before
Love the hunter, the K-firs, the coloured H-60's...and then there's the aggressor F-5's and special F-18's! Set of the month

Thought I recognised the reg of that K-fir too, RIP!

:yahoo: Your Pictures are Just Great: (Beautiful) I was stationed at NAAS - NAS Fallon back in the 60's during the Vietnam Conflict. Fallon was a Great Place to be in those days. No Squadrons were permately attached, but we supported All A/C Squadrons (Navy Carrier Air Groups and Marine Air Groups) for Bombing and Target Excercies. Maybe 300 guys on base back then and we did everything. We got to Fly with the Squadrons on Air Operations and in the Base SAR Helicopters. It was Just Amazing the Opportunities we had back then. I sure do miss being there. You have a Picture of the A/C Hanger that I worked in. It was Hanger #300 back then and now it is Hanger #1. The Big Hanger with Dark Brown Doors and the sides are Lite Brown (Photo 2.9). I had the Privilege of walking all over the ramp you see in the photo and Flying all over the Mountain areas you see in the Photos. Thanks for all the Great Photos you have on this site...! :tumbleweed:
