Very nice, is this based on the 1/35 Trumpeter CH47D kit, or is it an RC model fuselage?

Hi Alan and Nigel

ths is the Trumpeter 1/35 CH-47D kit and its 18 inches in length without the rotors added.

she's a big ole girl and there are no conversion sets to make an RAF HC2 version, mine will be a special ops bird with the FLIR pod under the nose and a minigun up front plus a ramp gun at the rear. Im having to scratch build everything to make it an RAF helo so it is taking its time as i have only one book from a company WWP for referance so theres no rushing here. I will post more progress when i can.

It looks excellent so far, I guessed it was the Trumpeter model, I'd like to do the same job on one at some point. I'll follow this with interest!

More great work Clive... You would think there would be some kind of aftermarket set... Theres an idea to make some cash  I'll be keeping a watch on this build.

Another one for the "watch" list so no pressure

In a way I think you're lucky there's no 1/32 aftermarket CH2 stuff around, 1) your doing a great job with good old styrene anyway and 2) The Italeri 1/48 CH2 uprgade set costs as much as the bloody Chinook, which is precisely why I wont buy it - Imagine how much a 1/32 upgared would be? You're saving yourself a small fortune

Hi all
thanks for your interest ,I said things would be slow and they sure are. Got some more of the aerials on aswell as some more lumps n bumps also got the rear gun done yesterday the inside is now starting to take shape but i need to do quite a bit to the interior so thats going to be the time consumer here still here she is.

Very nice work on the main body, however I'm curious on how the M240 gun measures up as it looks underscale in the photos. The real thing is approx 1.2 meters in length so yours should be around 34mm ?

Hi all
I said this would be a long topic well here is a little progress.
Here I've tried my best to replicate the quilted interior, the quilted material is actually kitchen towel best and nearest i could come up with as a match. As for the gun Scott its at an angle and does look abit short but its the correct size.

Now I have these interior plaques I can now get on with detaillng the interior yipee!

Hi all

thanks for your intrest and comments
This is where i'm at now, the interior has been painted and is now ready for some weathering and equipment, i'm not sure if any of you have heard of or have some of the live resin stuff but i have just placed an order with acurate minitures. The resin weapons look the nuts so i'm hoping i will not be disapointed. Any how heres the pictures.

Half painted interior.

Now the fun starts, I had one of these beasts pass over my house the other night it was no lower than 50 - 100 feet off the roof of my house, it was a site to remember and the rotor wash was like a mild wind very cool.

Thanks for stopping by.
