But I would have thought it was a mock-up simply because it seems unlikely that the "real thing" would be shipped to Europe just for PR purposes and I notice it says " AIR FORCE EXHIBIT" on the side and the rocket eflux looks too smooth and clean. But it's still good to see the picture along with some other treats posted as well!

Ater 45 years I am not 100% sure now, so I am trying to investigate and even sent NASA a query about this # 56-6671. Will keep you posted of course if this was a mock-up (plastic, wood) yes or no.
I took pictures of this one because I liked this example, and because I had a 1:48 scale model of the X-15, like this one: http://www.donsmodelworks.com/cmprods/i ... m48029.jpg , so a great opportunity to see one.
