RAF Special Schemes
RAF Special Schemes
What with the RAF producing some almost-but-not-quite-there special schemes of late, how about a thread to remind us of schemes of old. RAF, FAA and AAC are all welcome here, with the older and rarer the better. Anniversary, Display, Celebration, Retirement - show us what you've got!
No more than three photos per post, but as many posts as you like!
From me, a couple which were lying around on Flickr - nothing rare, but nice schemes nonetheless.
Over to you!

FRADU Hawk in Royal Navy, the 7 a/c originally had titles along the upper fuselage sides '100 years of Naval Aviation' all 7 a/c still wear the scheme but without the titles [as per photo below] , us engineers decided it was out of date & had to go.

Re: RAF Special Schemes
Probably my favourite Hawk scheme from recent years, well six years ago actually...
43 Sqn produced this lovely black-tailed F3 to mark their 90th.
This Lynx was painted blue to mark 40 years of the Lynx, lovely machine!

3. My personal favourite scheme, from my favourite squadron. Shame they're on Shadows now without the markings.
