I believe that the typo was corrected on later usage elsewhere on the BBC website.

Thanks for the comments about the photos – I’m quite pleased with them; the best one (in my opinion) wasn’t uploaded on the museum site and only went out to the aviation press – I just hope that they use it!!

Overnight several more news updates have gone onto the museum website including details of the winner of the signed Michael Rondot print at last weekend’s V-Force event; details in here!

This weekend (11May to 13 May) the museum is playing host to the RAF Waddington Amateur Radio Club, who will be broadcasting from the museum site. They always welcome interest from the public in their operation, which aims to make contact with similar enthusiasts from around the world.

Also please remember that it is the Newark Show this weekend and you may need to allow some extra time if you are planning to visit the museum, which is still open all weekend.

Details of a Jubilee half-term activity at the museum - NAM’s Jubilee Jaunt have just been uploaded! A great activity for the ‘younger enthusiasts’ from Saturday June 2nd to Sunday June 10th 2012.

BBC East Midlands Today (1830 -1900 hours) should be running two news items relating to Bomber Command this evening (18th June) and tomorrow evening (19th June).

Filming with veterans and local people with aviation interests was completed a few weeks ago at Newark Air Museum, Staunton in the Vale and Langar.

There’s a chance to mix a few classic cars and aviation this weekend, with the Carlton & District Motor Club, Nottingham Classic Tour finishing at Newark Air Museum in the late afternoon this Sunday, 29th July 2012.

Further details in here, and we understand that the car people may have booked a BBMF flypast; although the museum cannot see it on the BBMF Excel spread-sheet!

The museum has received Planning Permission for its new Object Storage Building.

This Bank Holiday Weekend the museum is open as normal – 10am until 5pm throughout and don’t let the weather forecast put you off visiting!

During the last 48 hours a couple of updates have been added to the news page on the NAM website – one has details about a guided walk around parts of the former airfield and the other relates to a small presentation that is connected to a 76 Squadron Halifax crew.

A quick ‘heads-up’ for this coming weekend – visitors beware of possible extra traffic for the Truckfest event on the Showground; but any extra effort made in getting to site should be rewarded by having the opportunity to see the talents of the Midland Region Meeting of the Guild of Aviation Artists being practiced around the site.

Anyone interested in Harley Davidsons as well as aircraft may be interested to know that the ‘Lindum Colonia Chapter’ will be arriving at the museum in the early afternoon of Saturday 22nd September 2012, for a photo shoot in front of the Vulcan.

Not sure whether there’s any aviation radio / avionics buffs about these parts that might be attending the Lincoln Short Wave Club Hamfest 2012 event, which is on the Newark Showground on 28th & 29th September – but if you are please make sure that you leave enough time to visit NAM!
