La Ferté-Alais

Post by Vixen1 »

A couple of us are attending this year's show at the end of May.

Has anyone got any tips on where is best to site yourself for the flying? How easy is it to get in and out etc? We'll be attending on both days and the line-up I've seen looks great. Any other help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Been quite a few times. From my experience I prefer to position myself midway between the centre and the right hand end. The venue is easy enough to get into but can get a bit clogged up leaving as there are only a couple of tracks out. I'm skipping it this year but only because i'm going to Bodo instead next month.

This will be my fifth year at Ferte, and I always stand midway between crowd centre and the left end. Where have you seen the display listings? The AJBS website hasn't been updated from last year.

Aah right. Thats better, cheers. No Rafale M and only a pair of Red devils? Odd. Some lovely aeroplanes there, must admit the Strutter and S38 would be my highlights.

My French is not the best but I believe the site is suggesting the Airbus 400 for the Saturday. Great if it happens.

Airbus 400 is now showing in the flying display for the Saturday only as expected but the Hawkeye seems to have been replaced by a Paris

TFC's P-47D & H-75, EADS Bf 109G-4, Spitfire & Sea Fury from Christophe Jacquard, the Avignon Skyraider and Yak-3 F-AZLY, Extra 330 from the EVAA and maybe La Patrouille de France (infos from Le Fana de l’Aviation magazine).

Anybody else going to this?

I'm going to take a ferry over on the Friday morning and a late one back Sunday evening. That and 2 nights in a hotel about 11 miles from La Ferte have set me back just £104.

If anyone fancies coming along for the ride for a split of the petrol then PM me.
