At RIAT what is the typical legth of time allocated for each display act?

Max Runway times (inc Take Off and Landing)

Rotary Wing 8 mins
Fixed Wing 10 mins
Disp Team 12 mins (Upto 3 A/C)
Disp Team : Individually Agreed (4+ A/C)

On those timings I reckon the Solo Turk F-16 and the Raptor must qualify as 4+ aircraft demo teams

How many of those were Solo displays?

Don't forget, we have 8 fast jets, 5 teams, the A-400, Vulcan, Osprey and others.... It's a decent and full looking line up!

But their are some big regulars missing

Really? I'm not sure I'd agree.

Amongst the fast jets, the regulars are attending: Typhoon, Tornado, Belgian and Dutch F-16s, Swedish Gripen, Rafale (a recent regular). There is no American fast jet, but no specific jet is a regular, and its not a RIAT issue, its an airshow issues as a whole. Whilst there have been a variety of fast jets in recent years, none have been regulars.

I think people's perception is tainted by 2 things. What USED to be regular, 10 years ago, which now are seen sometimes, or rarely. And secondly, the general reaction driven by the US participation, which people are making out to be worse than it is

That'll be the Super Hornet then!

Andy

Think I'll go with you on that one Andy ;)

Could be, then again it might not be. The Super Hornet may already be in the flying display lineup. As well as that, I doubt the Super Hornet could be the last potential fast jet solo as RIAT have mentioned, they hope to make an announcement of it shortly. As much as the Super Bug is an outstanding display, it's been quite common to see one appear at RIAT when it's been a Farnborough year since 2004. Also, Farnborough announced yesterday the S.H would be appearing, so it's now seen as a given for it to be at RIAT too, therefore why the need to make an announcement?

As others have said, it could allude to another item. Thinking outside of the box, it could be any of the following:

-Italian Typhoon/ Tornado
-Slovak MiG 29
-SHF Viggen/Draken
-RDAF F-16
-UAE Mirage 2000
-French Navy Rafale Solo
-Hungarian Gripen

Time will tell, I guess..

I don't like to speculate in the participants thread, especially as this is my first post, but looking at the Swedish historic flight website, FIA and RIAT appear to be on their list...

Now, I'm certainly no expert in the Swedish language so someone feel free to correct me if necessary

And that's not continuous flying, if you allow 5 mins between displays and if there are 27 of those, then you'll need to add on another good 2 hours to the total display time. Think that will mean its getting close to being full.

Whoops! Should have realised that  Saying that, I don't know what the team logo after an airshow is supposed to mean?

In the mean time, great work on the show so far to all involved. Particularly looking forward to the MiG-29, Rafale, Black Eagles and A400M.

Looking forward to the next fast jet announcement too - though I suspect, like others, that it will be the Super Hornet.

Well, from my experience I've noticed that they tend to launch several a/c and then 'stack' them ready for their displays. There isn't usually too much of a gap between the displays, in fact I think it's pretty good that some of them overlap which makes for some nice and unexpected flyby's.

Hey I am happy. By my calcs i reckon we still have space for some sort of Jubilee thing plus two or 3 more things in flying. Now to fill up the static over the coming weeks. Looking good I have to say.

I have to say Im very pleased with how this show is shaping up. Its looking like my best RIAT so far and theres still at least another 7 updates to come! So plenty of chance to get some more unexpected bonuses in the static display or even flying!! Great stuff and good work RIAT

Great additions so far.
Looking likely that the Breitling Jet Team will be confirmed in the week or so.
Also would expect the RAF Chinook and US Hornet to be confirmed aswell.
Also confirmed on their website is the OV-10 Bronco for Static.

Christian
Bring on RIAT, Waddington, Cosford, Blackpool, Southport and Bournemouth.
