Its quality all the way at present, rare items, unusual types, lots of UK debuts, looking really good and harking back to what made RIAT great. Quite a bit more to come in the static yet without a doubt, fingers crossed for even more goodies.

Fantastic Additions, 49 days until RIAT, I suspect a few more suprises to come.
Still wondering what is the current situation with the Leap Frogs Parachute Team?
Bring on RIAT, Waddington, Cosford, Blackpool, Southport and Bournemouth.

Perhaps they're just trying to limit the hours the airframes fly. With the announcement yesterday that a Luftwaffe Phantom will be on static at Pardubice in June, I've still got hope that we'll see one at RIAT.

Come on Luftwaffe, the Typhoons and Tornados are great, but what we really, really want is for one of your marvellous smoky old Phantoms to come over one last time. We have years and years ahead of us in which to enjoy Typhoons!

Otherwise a very, very good update indeed. All shaping up nicely!

I think it could be more of a problem with the hours left on the airframes rather than being embarrassed. Wasn't it mentioned the German's had to leave an airframe in either Iceland or Lithuania during their policing duty because it ran out of hours?

Really great addition - chuffed with the Super Étendard's and Super Hornet.

Just hope the Super Étendard's don't go the same way as the Spanish Mirage F1's last year - confirmed flying, moved to static, cancelled a few days before the show.

I echo the sentiments about this years shows shaping up to be a cracker. Still more to come hopefully - certainly US participation is down at the moment.

Will certainly be glad to see the SEs when they arrive, when was the last time they attended? I can't remember taking a photo of one for a while (at RIAT, I don't go to VL)

If the Super 'E' display is anything like Yeovilton, it'll be quite a treat. Low, fast beating up the runway, it was pure entertainment.

Also great news about the Super Hornet always a super display.

As already discussed a few times before: the gap between July 4 and RIAT is too short to send something over, have the pilot adjusted to the Local Time and rehearse the display, even IF there was someone that could give them an amount of money that could run the Premier League for a decade.

But this is the Participants thread. The Raptor is not a participant.

http://www.denverpost.com/nationworld/ci_20631307/f-22-flights-restricted-over-safety
The F-22 fleet is currently restricted to flights within the proximity of a suitable landing site due to ongoing problems with the oxygen system. To be frank, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if they cancelled demonstration flights for the season (which would suck, as it's supposed to be at Andrews AFB this weekend). If this issue is acute enough for the SecDef to get involved, do you really think they're going to send any across the Atlantic for an air show?

Stunning lineup this year. Wish I could be there

Re: RIAT 2012 Participants

I see that RIAT still has nearly 40 countries with "invited" status next to them.

With less than 2 months to go, how many of those are actually likely to turn into actual participation, or even "ongoing"?

Of these countries, how many are invited every year? And if so, how many never reply?

Is it possible that the week before RIAT, we will still have a list of 30 "invited countries"?

Anyway, I am still interested in the "Slovakia & Morocco - ongoing".

BTW, GREAT update today.

What a cracking update
Shame about the TBM700, what about my toilet break
Just receved an email from RIAT saying they have extended the flying display to 8 hours and we should hear more about the jubilee flypast in a couple of weeks. sounds very promising.

Must say the line up is now looking very good. Far better than last year already.

As for German Phantoms, I believe its been stated on here several times that they arent displaying them in any shape or form?

Isnt there a Phantom still flying on the airshow circuit in the USA? Part of some historic flight team?

Yet another great update, well done again DBH. Can't help thinking ahead, though, to next year and the moaners are going to have a field day because I doubt DBH will be able to get any way near this years participation, especially with it being a non FI year. I'll still be going what ever arrives next year though.
