In 3D I believe - such a pity...

But, splendid news from Africa - Mafeking has been relieved, so we are creeping towards the toilet thread again...

Not so good news from the East, though... Such a shame about General Gordon.

It was in The Times, of course...do you not subscribe to this fine source of reportage, my good fellow?

If you don't, then (to paraphrase John Major) you should......

Apparently, he's busy - but I hear they are trying to get Jedward instead... A good deal, I believe - two for the price of one... Almost a bogof, if you'll excuse a bit of creep towards the much vaunted and sadly neglected toilet thread...

This is terrible news  Is Jedward really the best they can manage this year, I know budgets are being cut by these acts around the globe, but an act that didn't even make the final is an utter shambles, I appreciate Leona Lewis is busy but surely they could stretch to Leon thingy, if they can find him, at least he won it ( I think).

Is the Raptor going to be at RIAT this year, there is a gap in the published display schedule?

Jeez now we,ve got dino,s at the show :dizzy:

I am allergic to all birds of prey, so this news has come as a double-blow.

To register my disgust, I have sent my Mach 3 ticket back to DBH along with a covering note and a lump of radioactive rock. Perhaps they could feed the rock to the eagles, thus literally killing two birds with one stone.
Posting comments on an aviation-related chatroom, are ya? Looks like it an' all...

I am very glad you have sent them back skyflash, if more of us do it they may get the message, i sent mine back ages ago and let me tell you why.

1, Korean and al fusan display teams. these teams arnt new they have displayed in their own countries, so others have seen them before us, hardly new are they ehhh....
2, I Come to RIAT to see, aeroplanes and helicopters! full stop, what do RIAT do get a feckin Osprey and what is that?
3, And whats this DHL stuff, i bet they are the ones that lost my Viagara order i bought it online from Bangkok a genuine company (because they said they were) and never showed up leaving me hard up and annoyed. thanks alot
4, The only Russian jet coming is the same as an italian jet, only the Italian jet is 2 inches bigger, mrs x1x says she always finds the Italian ones are a few inches bigger, she amazes me sometomes her knowledge of planes...
5, The Saudi hawks well have you ever seen them in the air at the same time as the red arrows? something fishy going on there.
6, And doesnt appear to be a single stealth jet on RIATs radar.
7, Too many transport planes are gonna fill up all the portaloo space and they will blame it on the olympics, you wait and see.
8, The programme is inappropriate last year i was fortunate the huge cost of it meant me emptying out my entire back pocket of cash, fortunately this freed up a pocket for the programme, only for me to sit on it causing a serious injury to my rectum and requiring surgery to have a Breitling advert removed after the show and even worse creasing the flying display schedule
I could on and on and on and on ......................till i get.............

So sent mine back, not going and probably wont come ever again, its not a proper airshow and i am going to find a better one....

A lot of moaners indeed.....and heres another one!
many folk from this fair town of Hemel Hempstead have not been able to get a coach 'special' to an air tattoo for years.....many of us cant be bothered with the hassle of driving or using normal public transport,so why cant they send a few displays over this way....
I'm sure the local residents wont mind a bit of noise after the oil companies tried to exterminate us in 2004

Holy s@@t does that mean my request for a Mongolian YAK has been taken seriously and one is coming :yahoo:

disclaimer... just to notify all relevent parties any moans or requests on this thread are simply micky taking or sarcasm and in now way reflect on the great work RIAT have done, the author cannot be held responsible for any individuals who may actually take it seriously. i am not really sending my tickets back and dont like Jedwood.. if Capercaille is as closet Joe Mcthingy fan i couldnt possibly comment.
Oh and Viv and bob the 2 orphaned eagles and the yak have not been harmed in any way.

well last year all the real entertainment kept getting disturbed by aircraft noise.....and it appears my suggestions for a joint Chuckle Brothers and Krankies live "mash up" session this year have been ignored as well

We have to cater for the ice cream van spotters :icecream: . The bus spotters do very well at the coach park, the park and ride and the shuttle bus, the portaloo spotters are very well catered for  , and I believe RIAT have persuaded National Rail to build a direct line from Swindon railway station that will be located just immediately south of Fairford's runway, running parallel to its entire length. I understand that the intention is to have a mass steampast at the start of the flying display, and then to have locos positioned on the line during the entire flying display so that the crowd can enjoy them throughout. To do this the crowdline will have to be positioned another 60 feet back from its current position to make way for the line, but the speakers will remain where they are so that the crowd's view of the locos is not affected. The flying display line will also remain in its present position.

I also hear rumours that RIAT are in talks with the RSPB so that bird watchers can also be catered for, but it's all hush hush at the moment. If anybody asks, just tell them a little bird told you.

The RSPB talks have gone on hold because the main RSPB negotiator has been arrested for "twitching" in an indecent manner..he's up before the beak in the morning.....

Been going through my Janes fighting ice cream vans book and found this on the FGR4 Whippy

The Whippy van

The whippy van was equipped with the latest icecream hardware when it entered service 4 decades ago.
Armed with 500 litres of soft whippy ice cream, an array of lollies laced with e numbers and topped of with raspberry sauce and sprinkles, it really did strike fear into the poor little sod trying to sell ice-creams from a pedal powered fridge.
The whippy van was the first stealth van as when it comes your your street sounding off you cant F**king find it.
Its also equipped with the new soft scoop ice cream delivery system, delivering the softest ice-cream. so soft its covered you hands andstained your trousers before any chance of getting themback to the kids. causing you to berrate the little sods for making such a mess.
The whippy van is matched up to a un-powerful 1.9d engine generating 87 BHP and an acceleration from 0-60 in 43 minute when following it in your cars. but the whippy vans super power delivery system turns this into a 350 BHP monster with an acceleration of 0-60 in 2.9 seconds when, you have finally found the money and exited the house having promised the kids andthen try to catch the feckin thing.
The powerful tune box often playing poweful ballads as the teddys bears picnic or pop goes the bloody weasil is enough to strike fear into parents throughout the world, this powerful weapon is resposible for many injuries tp parents who have tried chasing the thing.
The whippy van though had its faults poor range made non stop long journeys difficult and there never seemed enough payload to carry sufficent change for larger notes often leaving the punter and the pilot close to combat.
The colourful modern hi tech deceptive camoflauge scheme was very effective in service though, the pictures on the side looked so much better than what you actually got.
