I had the opportunity to shoot this Mitsubishi Zero yesterday. It has been rarely seen in the past 10 years or so since it was used in the filming of 'Pearl Harbor', and has spent most of the intervening years stored in Southern California.

Superb! Find it bizzare that there are over 300+ views and now two replies! No appreciation for a photo like this??

Re: Zero-sen!
This is one of three wrecks that were recovered from the South Pacific in the 90s and rebuilt in Russia (using mostly new metal) and fitted with R-1830s from DC-3s. The first is now with the CAF at Camarillo, the second is this one, and the third one (which spent some time stored at Duxford in the late-90s) ended up with Paul Allen in Seattle, and last month finally made its first flight in the hands of Steve Hinton.
This one was used for the 'Pearl Harbor' movie filming in Hawaii, and has been stored since then. It appeared at Chino's airshow last week, and has now been leased from its owner (a Japanese businessman) by a new flying museum in Anchorage, Alaska, and was being ferried up there over the past few days.
