The only one that never flew from the list was the mustang. Seemed strange seeing the two typhoons at the airport though

How comes? Can't be helped can it.

It was an enjoyable day at Southend today - not bad for a free airshow. The JP, Black Cats and Typhoon were the highlights for me. Looking forward to Duxford tomorrow!

In comments section at the bottom.

Typhoon is last (as you would expect) each day.

Sad to see in the Echo comments again the annual moan-athon from a few of the locals (and some not so local) about how dreadful is the free airshow that brings life and business to the town for a couple of days. A very British trait it seems. Long may it continue I say (the airshow not the moaning!)

I have to say that a few days ago i made some comments regarding the line up and still stick buy it but i ended up going yesterday as the weather looked so good.
Me,the wife and kids went down there,I left my Camera at home for once and have to say with the weather like it was yesterday you can't help but enjoy the day.
You could put anything on the air on a day like yesterday and people will enjoy it.
Typhoon was great but i also thought that the blades,P40 and MH434? were outstandong.

So can anyone confirm what time the show did start on Sunday.... The programme on sale said 2.30, the website said 3 and loads of other times have been posted on here - come on Southend organisers, announcing a clear and consistent start time in the media well in advance is surely not rocket science?
Luckily I went to DX Sun but was wondering for one or 2 RAF items 'how can that have already been to Southend if their show only starts at 3pm???'

Loved both days, The only change to the flying on the Sunday was the Mustang instead of the Easyjet A320, but saying that the A320 was only due for the saturday. There was a haze out on the water but nothing that effected the flying, the Black Cats could clearly be seen over the Kent coat buzzing the Grande Argentina freighter going into Tilbury.

Talking of the Black Cats they were superb, a must catch display.

Went on Sunday and had a very enjoyable afternoon. When I first saw the display listing I have to admit I didn't really have that much enthusiasm for going along (nothing on it that really grabbed my attention) but thankfully got persuaded to by my dad and son and enjoyed the flying very much. Agree that the Black Cats were excellent, I thought the warbird displays (P40, Mustang, Spit) were the best I've ever seen at Southend. Also really enjoyed the aerobatic displays, the white smoke really stands out against a clear blue sky and grabs people's attention (white smoke from a small aerobatic aircraft against light grey cloud doesn't really work in such a big arena so the weather definitely helped). Blades also superb, Jet Provost was a real highlight. Typhoon and hawk were good but not sure they would have stood out if there were any other fast jets in the programme. I would say in my case I was surprised how much I really enjoyed the day considering my initial skepticism over the line up (yes the weather did help a bit I'm sure!).

Thought the Trig team were superb the 100ft pass  A team to look out for.

With Southend being my home town show it cost me nothing to go and I can be home in 10-20mins food & drink from home costs next to nothing, hopefully it will continue.
