The airfield is open between 0900-1800.
The entrance is Free. It may be a parking fee of around 20kr which last time went for charity.

Hej Martin
I can't quite work out the map on the website - do you know what the red line denotes - where is the crowd line?
thanks a lot

Me neither, and does anyone know the display line?
When you look at the airshow map it's not really that clear:
I can see that Martin has already enlighten us some of the details though, but if the display line is on the north / south runway (01/19), won't we then have the sun in our back at around midday and forward, or am I wrong?
Gripenfury wrote:I am an enthusiast photographer myself so I´m happy to answer:)
Unfortunatley the sun will be in front of you most of the time, BUT you´re probably going to stand very near the intersection of two crossing runways, which means that the displaying aircrafts not just fly past in a straight line. Instead most of them will go in a kind of a long turn and therefore on two sides of you. Also last time (2010) the crowd line was very very near the runways (maximum of 45m). It´s probably even closer than at RIAT.
/Martin
But it would be nice to know the display line and the crowd line, if anyone has any information about it
Thanks,
Søren

Hi everyone!
The red dotted lines are probably crowd barriers.
I have seen that the programme and map have vanished too, wonder what that means.
As it seems that the red dots cut the W/E runway i doubt that it will be used and if thats the case, as you say the display line will probably be along the 01/19 Rwy with the best spots beeing along the red dotted line on the westerns side facing east.
I have heard that there are some possible "surprises" in the programme that will not be realesed until later/the same day.

Re: Swedish Air Force Airshow/SAAB 75th Jubilee, Malmen 2012
Hi,
In 2010 this was also the flying/flightline area. Fighters and helicopters flew from flightline on static side. Aircraft used taxiway on west side.
From the east parking you can walk around disparels with old JA.37 en J.35 (in 2010) and the hangars with Saab 105's and the museum storage hangar all with al lot of windows. I know were I will park.
Also 2 years ago in the morning the windows of hangar with Hkp.15 were open and a number of Hkp.15 were visible. But the windows were covered with carbonboard quickly. Other hangars had no windows I believe.
Just a few days and off to Sweden
Weather forcast is not looking good .

Re: Swedish Air Force Airshow/SAAB 75th Jubilee, Malmen 2012
Hi again!
On saturday the 2nd there´s a possibility for spotters to access the area. You need to signup to the mailadress at the bottom at the latest 31st of May!!!!
http://www.forsvarsmakten.se/sv/Aktuellt/Ovningar/Forsvarsmaktens-flygdag-2012/Spotters/
Here´s a translation:
You will meet at gate 19 (at the bottom to the left on the map) at 0800, there you will get your spotterID. After that you will walk around the static togheter and for those interested in the flying bit you will be showed to a designated area close to the flightline at 0930 when flying will begin. The presscentre will be available for those with spotterIDs, there will be computers, printers, WIFI and some tea. The designated photospot will be available for you during the sunday show aswell.
The official "publication" have been released aswell, it´s in swedish but you get the point of some of the stuff. The programme seems to be the old one without the PC-7 team, etc. They will probably print out the new schedule and hand out separatley.

Re: Swedish Air Force Airshow/SAAB 75th Jubilee, Malmen 2012
There are acctually two official websites as the airshow is both the finale of the aerospace forum and the swedish air force main airshow.
Aerospace forums own (http://www.eventregistrering.se/afs_attendees/index.php) has been updated sooner and have been better in my opinion.
The other is the Swedish armed forces website. It´s only on that one that the magazine and the spotter details have been released. (http://www.forsvarsmakten.se/sv/Aktuellt/Ovningar/Forsvarsmaktens-flygdag-2012/)
Unfortunatley it´s only in swedish.

Thankyou Martin,
Do you just need to give your name in the email?
Sorry but wasn't sure as sometimes ask for passport details or address.
Thankyou

Re: Swedish Air Force Airshow/SAAB 75th Jubilee, Malmen 2012
The forecast doesn't say persistent rain, hopefully just a couple of showers and then some sunshine...everything crossed!
