Just thought I might "kick it off" Germany to win, but who will be best of the losers?

Don't think this German side is quite what it was at the World Cup when it took people by surprise. Marco Reus will be good to watch though, he had a brilliant season with Moenchengladbach. Spain might have peaked in 2010 too.

I reckon the Dutch might be a force this time - they're ripping Norn Iron apart at the moment.

I agree Dan, I think the Dutch might take it this time. England to reach the quarter finals but no further.

Write the Germans off at your peril. They'll be there or thereabouts, they always are.

Fancy the Dutch or possibly the French to take the title though.

Between Spain, Holland and Germany for me.

Expecting nothing off England. If we get through the group stages, that will be an achievement itself. Nothing against Woy, sure he'll do a good job in time, but we simply don't have the quality at the moment and if Parker or StevieG (unless he sees sense and puts Milner in the middle) get injured it means we have to resort to the "crock of" that is Jordan Henderson. :wall: :clown: :claypole:

I thought you did commentary for football  ? If so, you should know how things are going right now. Losing from Bulgaria and having big problems beating Slovakia... Not to mention not being able to beat Bayern Munich which suffered their biggest blow of the season within 72 hours before that match.

Besides that, a lot of over-confidence in the team, like in Italy 1990 and a player moaning about not playing in the press instead of keeping his problems internal. Oh, of course it helps the group is an easy one with Denmark, Germany and Portugal. Thank you very much, Marco van Basten for that draw  .

You'll won't find that level of playing at that tournament.

I think Greece might fall into that category on the evidence so far...

To answer my own question, the Dutch dont play in their "national " coulours but they do have a good reason not too

I assume by "we" you meant England? The England kit is white with red trim....

Surprised with the Netherlands today. Van Persie lacked a lot, it was like watching a completely different player.

Germany vs Portugal should be a cracker, having said that now, it will probably be 0-0 now! :surrender:

I thought the Dutch were trying to be to clever today, and wasted numerous opportunities. They may good good at passing and possesion, but they need to stop p...ing about, around the penalty area.

Woy and our bunch of talentless prima donna's as usual will do nothing. Think them making the quarters is pushing it.

My heart says England, but my mind says Spain, Germany or maybe Russia to win.
On another note Paul Gascoigne looks awful in that Umbro advert sad to see such a great player ruined by booze etc.

The referee in the England-France game appeared to exhibit all the symptoms of an official that had been "got at" but I'm sure he wasn't.
I've no real enthusiasm for the tournament as the main talking points appear to be centred around "goal line technology," "monkey chants" and the "superfluous officials behind the goal line" rather than footballing excellence. Hopefully the tournament will get better as it goes on. 5 out of 10 - can do better.

Solid start from England, nothing spectacular.Welbeck done well on his own upfront and Oxlade-Chamberlain looked lively.
The Ref didn't seem to want to give England much and when it came to Cabaye he seemed to loose his cards in his pocket.

Humour me chaps - it's not my sport and I haven't watched much since I lost interest decades ago but tonight I watched most of the match with my grandson. And it was BORING! Now, have I just watched a lousy game or is it as uninteresting as I thought it was all those years ago?

I was most impressed with Danny Welbeck the other night. Very mature performance with real strength up there on his own. Looks to have a very promising England future.
