Not looking good. I'd been planning a trip down for the weekend but looks like I'll need to make alternative plans

Re: 3rd June - Mid summer airshow
Low cloud, dark with mizzle outside at the moment, I'm 32 mile NE of Old Warden, although light rain is forecast when it turns heavy later this afternoon. Don't mind getting wet coming home on my bike but getting wet going anywhere leads to an uncomfortable day.
Believe me waterproofs are never that waterproof.

Would anyone know if there is there likely to be much flying today?

Re: 3rd June - Mid summer airshow
I live in Biggleswade and close enough to see some of the flying from my Kitchen window when I'm not at the show, it is currently overcast, windy and raining steadily, cloud is so low that I am unable to see Sandy transmitter or its nav lights from my bay window, so it's not very good at the moment!!!

The mizzle has now turned to proper rain. Not even going to venture out for a newspaper.

As Mr Blake says, it's pants here in deepest Beds. Should have been manning a fund raising stall there today but have cancelled as nobody will want to buy wet stock even if they do brave the weather to go there. Looks like the Beerfest at nearby Langford will get a visit come opening time.

The sun's shining in Catalunya. Watching the motorbike racing on Freeview 301.

Re: 3rd June - Mid summer airshow
Weather Way too poor for any display, full marks to the organisers to provide a voucher to attend another display, very good PR,
they have been so unlucky with the weather this year, looking forward to a classic sunset display soon

Re: 3rd June - Mid summer airshow
I heard that they delayed the start of the flying until 3pm on the basis that brighter weather was on its way. Quite understandable. It did brighten up in north east Hampshire from the south and west. I was looking at the weather radar and sat images in the morning ready to make a last minute decision if to go.
Under usual circumstances the better weather would have got to old Warden at about 3pm at least
Unfortunately, the forecast was bang on. The clearance slowed down and stalled. The front wriggled and pepped up over London in the afternoon and the other front that had moved north of Old Warden was erratic and started to move south again.
I was advised that there was no or little flying. The only visitor was a Spartan from Little Grandsen. At about 3pm, the flying display was cancelled
