Diamond Jubilee Concert

Diamond Jubilee Concert

Postby DanH on Mon 04 Jun 2012, 8:07 pm

Is anyone else watching this and finding it to be absolutely awful? Cliff Richard sounds like he's got a mouthful of cotton wool and it sounds like the only band worth staying tuned for is Madness. Doesn't bode well, should have just had Brian May play the national anthem on his guitar from the roof of the palace again and left it at that.

Lang Lang was good, Cheryl Cole was worse than a Karaoke gone wrong.

Suspect it'll improve once it gets dark and the atmosphere improves.

Mind you, that means another 60 mins of this.

Madness on the roof might be ok....Our House anyone?

A bladder infection is preferable to tolerating this.

Can't get Ed Sheeran, he is like a very average busker.

What a load of clap trap this concert is , very embarrassing , who picked the presenters -awful. Best up to now Tom Jones/Shirley Bassey and Kylie Minogue.
Thought Sir Cliff was going to end up stretchered off - he was knackered and out of breath . Mind you my bladders giving out here like Phil's , I dont know whether to cringe or wet myself with laughter ............ I bet Liz is cringeing at this shower

The music has become slightly more bearable but the announcers have been absolutely embarrassingly awful.

Also worth noting that there's a guitarist behind Elton John who looks like Vincent Vega (John Travolta's character) from Pulp Fiction.

The whole Jubilee has been over hyped nonsense. Annoyingly you can't seem to get away from it either. Fair play for her being on the throne for so long, but like the Olympics, the hype is cringe worthy.

Hate to think how much it's all cost, better spent elsewhere at the moment without a doubt. :dizzy:

Does anyone know how much it would cost to have Lenny Henry offed? Perhaps we could club together.

Best wishes to Her Majesty. Concert's dreadful though. Hope Prince Phillip gets better soon, poor chap. Mind you he's better off getting better in Hospital than suffering the cold in London listening to that Concert just a shame he's going to miss the fun Tomorrow of the Horse Procession and the Flypast.

Oh so it was Elton John! Thought it was Anne Robinson for a minute.

You bunch of miserable gits. Worth watching for the Gary Barlow's song and the Military Wives Choir etc alone! To see so many of my fellow comrades in the crowd made me proud to be British.

Biggest laugh of the night went to Prince Charles as he made reference to the 'brilliant' comedians who had introduced the other acts

Plenty of bobbins performances earlier on but i thought the last 30 min or so was very enjoyable (Maccas duff vocals apart). Nice speech from Charles.
