Hi all, I came across a little piece about the airshow in the Shropshire Star, it lists the flying programme as follows:

See you all on Sunday!

I bet someone's ears will be burning for publishing that in the regional press, if not now, certainly in the morning!

Oh dear, my apologies to all, I thought that seeing as they were posted in the paper that it was ok to stick it on here.

It did strike me as a little odd in hindsight.

Sorry  :surrender:

Not your fault Tommy mate, you've only reported something that's now already out there in the local domain! Never known it happen before, not the best move in my opinion, let's hope it wasn't repeated in the Wolverhampton E&S!

Gents; thank you respecting our request not to replicate the flying program which in reality remains fluid and changing. We do not want people making plans on erronious information.

Onto better news:

You asked could we avoid hiding the jets used for training, and whilst we do not have the real estate to line them all up, the area between hangar 3 & 4 will now have additional aircraft on static display including a Jaguar GR1, Tornado and a Sea King. This effectively sees static aircraft spread around the entire air show ground plan. The 238 Jaguar flight line is being taken very seriously by 238 and I am told that in addition to simulated weapon fits, the ground will include 'Aircraft Armed' signage in an attempt to replicate an operational flight line and hopefully provide a photo opportunity now long lost.

Did anyone else see the VC10 at Cosford today? Checking the place out I suspect.

Sounds good!

As for the VC-10, maybe checking it out for a future delivery flight

That may come later, but this weekend he will 'deliver' a 7 min slot which is a little more than the anticipated single flypast. Not exactly sure of the script and hoses will not be deployed, but it is sure to have an impact on the atmosphere of the show.

What time was that then.... I was in the garden most of the day with my Grandkids and saw/heard nothing.

I'll bet he turned up when I was off doing the bloody school runs :wall:

Possibly, I think it was mid afternoon ish. East to west pretty much overhead the M54 at 2000'; waited for an anticipated overshoot but that did not happen.

Think the VC10 flew over at approx 13.50 -13.55 IIRC, heard it overhead at work "just down the road from Cosford" and a couple of text messages confirmed it!
Anyways, 7min fly past/display on Sunday will be superb in my opinion so really looking forward to it come rain or shine!

D200 - many thanks for answering my posed question ref the Jag earlier in this thread..

For our Abingdon airshow in 2010 we had a 7 min VC10 slot, and that consisted of a flythru at 500ft, to join the circuit, overshoot at 250ft to a full power climb out... was great and hope you get similar at your show :)

Ok, you guys are clearly the best airshow organisers this year, but can you please work your magic on the weather from now on

Although the next day or two looks a bit damp round here, Sunday is actually looking an improvement on what had been forecast:

Hope it goes well for all attending and wish I could have had the time to go rather than working...

Personally I dont understand the whole keeping the program secret syndrome (but then Im not an organisor).

Seeing whats on, and when, actually helps me plan my day, as I suffer from panic attacks if stuck in traffic.

I did go to the show a few years ago, but cant remember how much traffic there was going into the show.
I seem to recall sitting in a queue , but nothing too bad ? I know about the coming out issues.
If I do go , and take my your pilot (!) , I dont really want to get there too early maybe 11-11.30 .

Any chance of securing the Boeing E-3 Sentry in the programme - Throckmorton have it the day before. Could it be enticed to get airborne for us on Sunday, too? :heyhey:

The programme is FULL so even if the E-3D was flying I doubt the team could fit it in.
They've done a marvellous job and it should [weather permitting] be the longest flying display ever at a Cosford show!
