Had one for 9 months, before realising my mistake and getting the Canon 100-400. In good light when you get stop it down to F8 it was sharp, and focused well - however in usual British air show weather it was next to useless sadly, with photos lacking contrast, containing blotchy noise, and focus going all over the shop.
The Canon 100-400 however, I cannot fault even in crappy weather. My advice; save your pennies and get the Canon.
