Canadian Warplane Heritage 40th anniversary air show

Attended this event yesterday at the Hamilton Ontario airport (CYHM). The morning brought sunny weather but as the day went on the clouds built up and with the north facing flight line photography got more and more difficult. Hope you enjoy this selection of aircraft that were in attendance.








































Thanks for looking. This covers most of the aircraft that were at the show. The Snowbirds were also present but poor photography conditions left me with a bunch of stuff that I do not like.

What a terrific selection , spoilt for choice but the Lancaster and B-29 FIFI in formation is an amazing combination - thanks for sharing Jeff.

Cooorrr what a fabulous line-up. Demo Hornet take-off captured at just the right moment. Lots of potential favourites but the polished Mustang does look superb, and always great to see the Helldiver.

What a fantastic line up of aircraft.

A Lancaster/B29 formation, the Sabre, Mustang, whispering death, and Spit; makes FL look a little tame.

Excuse my ignorance, but what type/model is the trainer aircraft under the Firefly photo?

Excuse my ignorance, but what type/model is the trainer aircraft under the Firefly photo?

Not a problem. That is a Fleet Fort, the only Canadian designed and built aircraft in WWII. They were built in Fort Erie Ontario and the pictured example is the only flying Fort in the world. She sat in the hanger for many years at the CWH and it was great to see her back in the sky. For more info on the Fort click on this link.
