well with only 17 days to go, I contacted Lowestoft Tourism this morning regarding the souvenir programme and its release date and was told that it will be available on the day there is no advance sales this year.

Wise decision regarding the programme. Lets hope its for further additiions to the line up. gettin a prog in advance and seeing a poor line up could put folk off going.

The programme will be availiable on the days with your 3 pound donation so if you pay that you get a free programme unlike previous years when you had to buy a prog seperate from your donation. Also included in the prog over £150 worth of vouchers including buy 1 get 1 free at seaworld great yarmouth and more.

Line-up with two weeks to go.

The aircraft with links haven't been confirmed by the organisers - but have Lowestoft listed on their respective calendars/display dates (click to view).

Royal Air Force
Red Arrows
Falcons Free Fall Team
BBMF - Dakota, Hurricane and Spitfire
Typhoon FGR4
Tornado GR4 Role Demo (Sunday only)
Hawk T1
Tucano (Sunday only)
King Air B200
Grob Tutor

Royal Navy Historic Flight
Swordfish & Sea Fury FB.11

Civilian

Red Bull Matadors
B-17 Flying Fortress 'Sally B'

Hawker Hunter 'Miss Demeanour'

Flying starts at 12:30pm each day, and should finish with the Red Arrows closing the show around 4:30pm. I'm not sure if the full four hours of flying displays are listed above, so there may be some changes/additions on the day.

think its more likely the Reds will close the show the first day after displaying at Yeovilton, but open the Lowestoft show the second day, thats the format theyve used in the past, saves them having to hang around Norwich all day

That's what's they've done in previous years, but on the official website it states that they will be displaying at 4:30pm on both days this year.

Again, for the first time ever, the Red Arrows will be closing the show on both days of the event! Due on stage at 4.30pm each day it will be a fitting way to finish the first ever Lowestoft Sea Front Air Festival held at a weekend!

According to BBC Suffolk weather forcarster this morning, saturday looks to be fine and dry with the chance of a shower and sunday looks to be raining but should clear up by mid afternoon.

Looks like Saturday is best day to head to the seafront.

That's typical, we have a beach hut again this year so it sort of forces us to go whatever the weather  Mind you, looking at recent forecasts the end product has not quite lived up to the doom and gloom of the prediction.

Saturday is looking like the best day weather wise with sunny spells and a chance of a shower forecast. Sunday looks like more persistent rain at the moment.

Does anyone know if we're due anything from the USAFE this year? Lakenheath is open for a few hours on Saturday according to the latest NOTAM briefing - perhaps a couple of F-15s will be making the trip over again like last year?

OK thanks Gooner - I think it might be a KC-135, apparently there's one due at Marham tommorow for the families day.

Sadly no USAF participation today. Only the BBMF Hurricane & Spitfire and the RAF Falcons were unable to display out of the listed participation. Not bad considering the blustery conditions.

Contemplating about going tomorrow as well, although the forecast might change my mind! :hide:

That's a surprise there was a KC-135 at Marham families day, did a couple of passes. Thought it might have headed to Lowestoft

I went to the Airshow today and thought it was very well organised, Clactons Airshow could learn a lot from it,for £3 inc a programme what a bargain day out although there were too many prop planes for my taste.
well done getting the Aircraft in to display without big gaps between each item, shame it Pi**ed down a few times but it all ended ok,off to Waddo Sunday

I thought we did pretty well with the number of jet planes today - Hawker Hunter, Red Arrows, Eurofighter, 2x Tornado, Hawk. In spite of all the rain, there weren't that many (long) gaps between displays, though the rain did ruin my programme.
