I'm guessing they are AR213 and P9374?

Being both DX based I'd imagine so.

What about X4650? The Biggin Hill Mk.I? As it's reportedly only staying in this country until next year it would be a shame for it to miss Legends.

I suppose that would depend on the owner's decision etc. Not really sure myself. It will be a shame if we do indeed lose her, as she's apparently owned by someone Stateside.

Would love to see the Flying Bulls B25 and/or DC6
Would to DC6 be able to land at DX?

James,

With the Red Bull F4U-4 Corsair going tech with engine issues, I know one of the Corsairs would be TFC FG-1D. What would be the other? The last I heard, the Meier Motor F4U-5 was down with paperwork issues with the French CAA. Is there another bent wing bird somewhere out there?

Looking forward to the weekend!

I was talking about Meier Motor's bird Lance, but I've also heard of problems with her. I heard they recently changed her engine and she is yet to fly.

Legends is a show Ive always watched and will always watch but this years is the thinnest I can remember for a looooooooong time

Lets face it, Grey is banking on SNAFU selling the tickets. The S38 isnt box office and we seen the P38 last year.

There'd better be some better late additions. Aerostars and Wing Walkers are not Legends mateirial.

Sorry to rant, but there ya go.

Actually I have to agree with you. Saw the P38 last year and again at Ferte earlier this year where the S38 appeared too. I'm praying for some exciting surprise addition to lake up for a mediocre line up.

At risk of starting a debate I think "mediocre" is a bit harsh - you cannot name another show in the UK that will boast so many Warbirds even if you are feeling the line up somewhat depleted compared to other years.

It's great that so many of TFC's aircraft are now back with us. Sometimes it is hard to instantly out-do the previous year and last years show was considered a great one by many. It amazes me that something like the P-38 goes from making a show "one of the best ever" to "seen that now bored" in less than 12 months!

Don't get me wrong, the P38 is a star item, but there are other aircraft in Europe just as rare that I'd like to see. Red Bull B25 and DC6, the Dutch and Norwegian P51s, Noratlas. I'd like the I16 to return. There's just no sparkle this year and although I enjoy the Aerostars and Wingwalkers I don't feel they really fit in at Legends. And at the risk of being massacred here, I'd rather see the S38 than Snafu!

Also inclined to agree - last year's list was a great one, but this year seems to be a slightly cut down version of that.

I've not been following the build-up too closely, but there has been talk of containers in this thread. Are they for that silver P-40?

The weather forecasts are not very encouraging at the moment either.

Anyone remember how the FW-190 from Legends 2009 got announced? Or the I-16 in 2010?

Who's to say Legends won't have the Dutch P-51's. Who's to say Legends won't have the I-16 this year. We don't know the full line up yet. Judge it when you see it finalised.

I'm suprised Legends has never gone for one of the Daimler powered Bf-109s in Germany.

Must admit I'm waiting to see it debut at Legends! Looks like I might have to wait until Airpower next year to see its full display!

Before we look further afield, what about the numerous British-based warbirds that never get booked by Legends!!

Indeed. Personally, I dare say I'd be there even if the lineup was the same every year!

I love to see the warbirds flying, and I'm not really bothered if I've seen them before. Many of them are like old friends - I will never tire of seeing MH434 in the air, and I am saddened by Big Beautiful Doll's untimely demise.

Anything new or unusual is welcome of course - but it's gravy, in my view.

This is a good point. The "stars" have always been revealed in different ways. Sometimes we knew well in advance (B-17 Liberty Bell, Red Bull P-38), some with no info at all before hand (I-16 Rata) and the rest has been by the modern force we call the internet because container movements and departures from far overseas was quickly reported and it was all added up before any announcement!

Crikey what a bunch of moaners. "There's only a P38 coming this year and we saw it last year" :dummy: Can we all get a grip?
I read earlier in the thread that 51 aircraft are expected yet the current IWM list only gives about 2 thirds of that number. So how about a really original idea? We all turn up we watch rare, vintage aircraft that you are lucky to see anywhere and maybe there might be a surprise or two. No I have no idea what is not listed, no I am not secret squirelling. I am just going to turn up and have a good day out.

If all goes well I will be travelling from Belgium and I will be within reasonable reach of Duxford friday , saturday and Sunday. I really don't know what to expect. I am a keen photographer, love warbirds, but actually never been to a warbird airshow before. I have seen Fairford, Farnborough and some others. Am I correct that the show lasts about three hours? If I'm at the gate at 8 am will I be able to buy tickets? And are there good photo opportunities both in the air as on the ground? I don't have an opinion on this year's line up being great or not since I can't compare...sorry for my boring questions...but with the info I have now this show seems fairly different from other airshows I attended.
