Arab Air Power GB - Iraqi Hawker Sea Fury T-61 ++FINISHED++

Having built the other two PM Sea Fury kits, I just thought it a good idea to build the other one.

Most of the painting is now done, I just need to re-coat some areas.

I could have done more to it, but I thought I'd save some time on this one in order to
make a better job of some of the other builds I have got lined up.







As A40 mentioned, this kit is possibly the best of the PM range, and here is a shot of all three types they produce.

Lovely model - I was hoping to do a 1/48 version of the sea fury for this GB but seeing how well this has turned out I might give 1/72 a go.

I've been tempted by the PM Sea Fury but the other kits in their range have put me off. I suppose if I came across one at the right price i'll be tempted.

Just picked this up for £2 in my local model shop! Giving it a go now - Alan, did you find any pics of what colour the wheel wells would be on an iraqi sea fury? I can't find anything online so was going to do a light grey but if you know any better let me know!

Matt, I'm not suggesting I know any better , but a lot of folk seem to finish Sea Fury wells in a silver. Most of the kits built are Brit or Commonwealth builds, I thought the painting for the Iraqi aircraft would mainly be in Brit colours and so the wheel wells are silver on mine.

You've given me an idea. If you were to get the standard PM Sea Fury, you could use the decals from the trainer to make an Iraqi front Line fighter? Looking on Wings Palette you'd be able to use the serial number for the trainer to make up the number for a fighter. Here is are the Arabic numerals 0 to 9 ٠١٢٣٤٥٦٧٨٩, if you used ٢٣٦ this would make '236' and the serials for the Iraqi Sea Furys were numbered 231 to 237! Sorted! Just a thought.

By the way, all this info was gleaned from Wings Pallete, not from any real research on my part.

not a bad idea -might do that as the other pm kits are only £2 as well! Could do the T-61 in the Pakistani colours also supplied. I had never seen Wings Palette - What a great site. Thanks

Great Matt.

Wings Palette is OK, but I have been told to be careful and where possible get actual photo evidence. But when you have obscure aircraft like the Sea Fury in Iraqi markings, I would be happy to go with it, especially as a couple of people who have offered colour plates have also offered explanations.

I'm looking forward to your build as you will be creating something different from stuff already posted on the GB and indeed possibly something
that is unique to you.
