7D firmware 2.0 available

Hi,

The new firmware was released yesterday.
Now we can get that 25 frame RAW burst from our well used 7D's

All settings are kept after the upgrade.

...and a number of other useful features like being able to limit auto ISO.

A firmware update that is actually worth having rather than the usual "mistake in spelling in the Cyrillic menu".

Effectively freebies from Canon. What nice people.

Hi,
It's a great update, it's also a great way of keeping people quiet for a bit asking when the 7Ds replacement is coming as I'm pretty sure it's now the oldest in the current range and should be next in line for a replacement. This seems like a tie over and suggests a replacement is some way off yet. It's the best firmware update I can remember for any camera apart from ones that fix major bugs. To up the burst rate from 15 to 25 is dammed impressive for a software update!

The actual link to the Canon US 7D firmware page is on the Canonrumors page I linked to.
I have only had time to test the new buffer size, and yes it is good.

An unscientific test allowed me to get 46 full size RAW frames before the 7D slowed down.
Looking forward to use both my upgraded 7D's at the Duxford Airshow in September

A must update simply just check the increased burst rate in RAW and possibly the most significant update soo far.
