Blood, sweat and tears - AXALP 2012 by sfw. Final update.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, blood, sweat and tears, it was all in the course of this year's show in Axalp. Blood, because it was hard to climb the mountain. Sweat, because a lot of sweat poured waving my kit. Tears, because the show was canceled Wednesday. Here are a few of my shots from the show.

#6 is incredible - you can see the shock cones from the two bullets!

Quite remarkable images. Ive never seen a photograph on here that has managed to capture the shockwave in the air from a round being fired from a jet. The rest are top quality aswell. Blood, sweat, tears ....and well worth it.

Simply superb, the motion blur on shot 2 just makes it look fantastic.
The shock wave from the guns and the fact the you've captured the rounds in flight bis great. Hopefully you feel rewards for all your blood, sweat and tears.

Not bad . .lol. . . Some of the best photography I've ever seen.. !

These are some of the most incredible aviation photos I've ever seen.
The background motion blur while keeping the subjects sharp on 1-3 is truly impressive... technically. You appear to be panning perfectly both horizontally and vertically. But to be honest, it's just a bit too over-the-top for my tastes, and personally I'd prefer to have some clue what the background actually is! That's just me though, small quibble.
I seriously think these need a logo/watermark, because they are just so good... and likely to be ripped off.

I'm glad you like my pictures. My approach to the problem is very simple, when the airplane is the most important part of the picture I'm using long exposure to eliminate background. Besides, in this set are, after all, not only panning shots .

You already know my opinion. Shooting pictures with shock wave are insane:)
Nice to see Gripen - finally something else.
Well done.

Absolutely tremendous Andy, great fast shots, terrific slow shutter images and the generosity to share without as much as a watermark - ground breaking

Incredible technique, has to be up there as one of the best sets ever, if not THE best.
Anything less than 900mm is wide angle

What a fantastic set, I love them all, but i was shocked to see how much bend there is in the 18s wing tips in shot 17, my god he must be pulling some rather uncomfortable G and have a lot of confidence in his mount...Well done, hell of a set and thanks for posting them

Shots 5 and 6 have to be contenders for shot of the year.
