China Airshow 2012, Zhuhai, China
China Airshow 2012, Zhuhai, China
I just spend 2 days at Zhuhai in very changing weather conditions. Although small, the quality and different kind of aircraft makes it realy worth it. All photos taken on Wednesday and Thursday 14th and 15th November during the trade days.

Dear santa,
I've been a very good boy this year, instead of bringing me anything this december could you maybe send one of the fast jets in the above photos to a little known airshow in Gloucestershire around late July..
Many thanks,
Luke, aged 28 xx

Aaaagh thank you sir, so did they copy the Typhoon or the other way round?
Re: China Airshow 2012, Zhuhai, China
Great set from a show that I would like to attend one of these days. Thanks for sharing.
Re: China Airshow 2012, Zhuhai, China
What a fabulous set, just amazing aeroplanes . I do like the J-10 but not so the 2 seater; definitely uglified, but what a view the rear seater has! The JH7 & J8 are deliciously old fashioned looking. .. Really great stuff.
You caaan't trust the system... Maaan!

Based on the (cancelled) IAI Lavi, the Israeli's sold the Chinese the designs.

Superb collection by the way!

Interesting that we could have had 3 aircraft types built on 3 different continents that pretty much all look the same. Interesting to me anyway haha.

Great photos Peter - I was there on Thursday/Friday/Saturday.
The weather wasn't as good as you had on the Wednesday - and gradually got worse.
Re the above photo - presumably taken from the opposite side of the runway.
We were thinking of trying there - but the weather made it not worth while.
Mind if I PM you to ask about how you got to the opposite side - and costs etc ???

Yes, this photo was taken from the old hotel opposite of the runway. During airshow days the owner opens the rooftop where people can enjoy the view. They charge 100RMB for it and you can even order a lunch package. To get here just walk around the Eastern side of the runway. Normally there are some locals who will drive you on the back of their motorcycle for a small charge (3RMB).
greetings,
Peter

Re: China Airshow 2012, Zhuhai, China
If anyone is interested, I've just compiled a trip report of my recent visit to the Zhuhai airshow......
My photos are nowhere near as good as Peters - but the weather was abysmal.
Highlight of the show was the first public appearance of the WZ-19 Light Attack Helicopter on the Saturday ....
... and the WZ-10 on the Friday....
The full trip report - with more photos - is here.
We also visited Minsk world .............
A full walkround of the ship is included in the trip report.
Enjoy......
