Tucson IAP 16-17 Aug 12

Post by dinger »

During my Arizona trip last August, two mornings were spent at Tucson IAP photographing the resident 162nd Fighter Wing Vipers. Here are a selection from less than ideal overcast conditions.

And a few visitors, the TC-130H was a rare bonus and the QRF-4C was a nice surprise.

This is one busy airport with a number of waves of F-16's launching and recovering throughout the day.

Nice shots. Where abouts on the airport were you standing?

We were given permission by the airfield manager to stand by the fence next to the tower. The F-16's were easily photographed through the fence both taxiing past and getting airborne.

Great shots ,
Talking of the weather . I rember seeing pictures of Eleven Squadron F3'S sitting in the snow. Can't remember if it was Tuscon IAP or Davis Monthan.
The crew were annoyed as they were expecting 100 on the thermometer.

You wouldn't mind that weather in the UK

Many thanks for the comments. In reply to the lens question, I was using a 70-200mm with a 1.4 converter.
