Forum Facelift

Post by LN Strike Eagle »

You may have noticed that the forum has had a nip and tuck. The website will follow later in the week.

If you notice anything that needs any attention, drop me a line.

Looks great!
Very Clean, bold and easy to read!
Something not right with the top border, missing something?
Just an idea on the forum, you could show the picture of the week somewhere...

looks good, can I suggest raising the white titles on the blue title bars by a few pixels tho? the writing tends to merge a little into the background beneath as they are now. Otherwise looks very clean.

They should be centred vertically. Hold control and hit refresh.

If the problem persists, can you send me a PM with a screen grab and let me know which browser you are using.

I sometimes view the forum on my HTC phone, the advert bar sits over the "new messages" and other top row of buttons. I can't see anyway of moving the advert bar to see the buttons. Rotating the phone 90deg does not help.

I know the page is setup for PC/laptop use, however with more and more phones used for mobile access this could be an issue for some of our members and me!

Also, if any of our forum members or the UKAR staff have a workaround they could share it would be helpful to me at least!

Please note my teenage daughter thinks I am a technological neand...noander.....ape-man!!!

Can you take screen grabs on that phone? I only have an iPhone to test the site on a mobile platform. It works very nicely on there.

I'd like to look into developing a dedicated mobile version of the forum - I use a couple of other forums that have good mobile versions.

This image will hopefully highlight the differences between new and old - if you do not see the version on the right hand side, you need to clear your cache:

There are revisions to the page header, menu, forum headers, topic icons and buttons.

So are you saying you've "lost" the buttons Ian? :surrender:

Go to the dark side, get an iPhone!!!! :handbag:

Sorry Ian, couldn't resist

See you in March?

Cheers,

Mine occasionally looks like this on Firefox 18.0.2 It isn't consistent though.

Clearing the cache the first time didn't help but I'll try it again.

Because you have the old graphics and CSS cached. You need to clear cache (control + f5 in most browsers).
