Black Sea Defence and Aerospace 2012

Every two years Black Sea Defence and Aerospace is organized on Baneasa International Airport in Bucharest, Romania. Aircraft displayed were Mi-8, Mi-17 and EC-135 from the Special Aviation Unit of the Internal Affairs Ministry, IAR-99, IAR-330 Puma SOCAT, C-27J Spartan of the Romanian Airforce, IAR-330 Puma Naval of the Romanian Navy, tanks, air defence units, 2 F-16 of the US Air Force.

Mi-17-1VA '110' - Special Aviation Unit. VIP helicopter equiped for 11 passengers, 3 armchairs and a couch of 8 people. Two 460 liter extra fuel tanks (it's the same fuel tank like on the MiG-21)

Mi-8T '716' - Special Aviation Unit - with bamby bucket. This is the oldest Mi-8 currently serving with the unit. Arrived in Romania in 1973 and now it has around 10 flight hours until the resourse will expire.

IAR-99 Soim (Hawk) '718' belonging to the Center of Flight Testing in Craiova. Tragicly later last year the a/c crash during take off claiming the life on cmdr. Aurelian Cojocaru (backseater). The frontseater, cmdr. Relu Ioana survived with major injuries.
