Italian KC767 at Leuchars

Post by Calum »

Braved the snow and freezing cold at Leuchars to catch this only to find out that it had announced that it was diverting to Brize! though within five minutes he was on the way back up north again! Only managed a few shots from the car park but will hopefully pop over through the week to catch it again.

Hi Calum, well captured  , wish it was going to stay as I'm over at Dunblane for a week. Could easily get across to Leuchars...Michael.

Hi Michael, rumor has it that it's in until Friday before it takes the 1sqn Tiffies to Malaysia. Don't take my word for it though!

Yeah it is a bit embarrassing. Are the Voyager's still not up to speed with AAR?

No, Voyager clearances are "imminent," but they were also "imminent" in January.

This is as bad as the Red Arrows being forced to use RNZAF/Swedish/French C-130s for support in recent years.

What a shambles! I wonder what would happen if the tabloids got wind of these shortfalls?

Forgot about that. Though heavy lift transport isn't really something the RAF has a lot of unlike tankers...

Willing to forgive the An-124 because we know the C-17s are busy, as for the tankers...

Could it be the case that the VC10s and Tristars are no longer able to fly long distances so other air arms are being called in?

Helping the French in Mali i think. Still as long as we are helping out our French buddies who cares if we have to have the Italians to tank us there and back :handbag:
