Testing the new lens at Coningsby
Testing the new lens at Coningsby
I was very eager to test out my new Canon 70-300mm L IS USM lens. So last Friday my boss and I went to Coningsby for a few hours. We were surprised at how busy it was. Unfortunately we'd missed the Danish F-16s by an hour.
I am very happy with the lens!

Nice nearly had a heart attack though given the last couple of shots and the thread title. Took a moment before I saw the small print.

I'm sorry but I will have to contact Health and safety. In your last pic, one of the people in the background to the right of the pic, isn't wearing a high viz vest.
"Nice pics mate" comments only! No criticism please.

Lovely shots!
I got the same lens for Christmas. It seems a great piece of kit!
May I ask what body, settings and post-processing you use? These are brilliantly sharp.

Those Antonov shots are incredibly nice, lovely angle and light, glad the news lens is working nicely for you.

If you click on the image, it opens in Flickr and just to the right of the photo are the settings, click on that and all the info you need.

Its a great lens isnt it!! I love mine, even though I have not had much chance to really put it to the test as each time I went to go out last year the weather was horrid!!
Well done, and enjoy your lens!!

Thanks chaps!
I'm off to Nellis on Wednesday, so I think I'm going to find out just how well this lens deals with heat haze there. It's forecast for 40c!

Kenny, heathaze is a natural occurrence, its not about whether a lens can cope with it, its just there and the only way to deal with it is getting closer to the subject.
