Well this is the Remains of a German Mil-8 that was blown up for James Bond film "Die Another Day" The Mil was painted in Fake North Korean Air Force colours. My Dad had this mounted on oak and he also has the two Horizontal Stabs in the Garden Shed!

Its my only Mil-8 Shot

The one that expired during filming was actually a Mi-9A - don't know the original serial number with the East German Air Force, but following reunification, it was renumbered as 9397 and was at Pinewood in 2002.

Just checked - evidently it was 407 with the East Germans...

Doesn't look much like a Mi-9 in this picture - the hockey stick antenna have been removed for a start... Still a sad end for a rare type...

I enjoy the photos on these sites, but why oh why do the photographers not present details of where and when taken, and a little more details about teh subject. Lots of nice Hips, but scant on detail.

The fake North Korean one was at Pinewood Studios in Iver.
