1/48 Scale Eduard SU-22 Fitter

Post by Jamesv9820 »

Guys,

This will be my entrance to the GB. If I get time, I might enter another one but we shall see. With the impended airshow season coming up, I might struggle to get this one completed!

It will be SOTB, but that also includes some Eduard Brassin goodies to make this old Kopro kit move into the 21st Century!

Just the photo of the box for now, more to follow soon

Ahhh another SU-22 build. I hope that you don't mind James that I had this one on my build list as well? Can I ask what markings you will be building yours up with so that I don't do a copy?

I'll be hopefully starting mine later this week but will be putting it on hold very soon since I leave for the UK in the nest two weeks. Still though I'm looking forward to seeing yours being built.

Rod,

Not sure which me yet, do you have a specific variant you want to build?

On another note we should have a meet up at Riat this year, all 32 scale kits are all yours!

Guys a brief update

I spent the first few days getting to grips with the Eduard Brassin cockpit - once you get it painted up and get the PE on, it does look impressive!

First up - the shock cone was constructed and weighted with this product:

Wings and burner can built up and put to one side. I also added the forward wing roots the the fuselage and filled the gap with Vallejo putty

Next up in the cockpit section - this probably needs a bit of drybrushing to finish off but is a definate improvement over the kit supplied one!

I have this evening Alclad Sprayed the shock cone and burner can and sealed the fuselage. I have also added all the small photo etch parts to the fuselage too so I should be ready for primer in the next few days - the only down side is I do not have any paint in for this yet!

More soon!

Guys,

Now that Waddington and RIAT are out the way, I have had a bit of time to get on with this - The fuselage is now sealed and had two of the 5 tone scheme added.

More to follow soon

Now that's coming along really nicely. Even though the gap at the wing root looked fairly big. The Tub looks great and the green wheels are something different
