Phil J @ Yeovilton Air Day 2013 - 3 visits combined

Post by Mr Flibble »

Hi guys,

Spent a total of 3 days at Yeovilton over the past week so I will post a combined thread with shots from each.

Good to see the usual suspects around and thank you for your company in the heat!

Also good to meet Koen and Frank for the first time. Hope you had an enjoyable trip.

First, here's a small number from outside the base on the press day (Tuesday).

All Good Phil but the last one is the best due to the angle.

Thanks Andy.

I added a couple more Jungly shots for good measure :)

Here are some from a scorching show day. Just a fantastic show to be at. :)

Good to see TonyO in the morning and evening for the Commando Assault. Copied his idea of hanging around the Lynx pan for a bit of action there at the start of the day.
Also good to see some more familiar faces during the day.

Here's my last batch of shots.

Phil,

Was good to finally meet you on the threshold yesterday - and the pix sure show you had a productive time!
Portrait Arctic Seaking is a cracker - Junglie triple line up also nice... heat haze was a challenge for more distant helos I found, but yours are superbly clear.

Didnt realise you were down the lane as well (and I wondered whose bike Rich had swiped), but then I was probably up a ladder looking t'other way.
It's a difficult call to say whether the flare shot was worth staying for. I enjoyed the threshold... but not the walk back to my car!

And I can see the attraction of the pan, but I'd be cautious letting Tony know it was his idea not yours!

Hope to see you again soon.

Phil

Didn't spot you down Pyle Lane on tuesday Phil, good job hiding! I gather you missed XR808 and XP924 later then :butt:

Nice catch with the special Lynx
