RIAT - the sunny noisy bits (UPDATED)

Post by richyrara »

As in the last couple of years I went to Rhymes P&V. I find it much better for photographing the flying display, as most of it seems to take place above you or to the north. The only trouble is, the light on the runway is a bit troublesome, although it turned out nice for the late arrival of the Canberra.

These are from Friday and Sunday afternoon.

As you can see I've run most of these through Photomatix to bring up some colour, I'm still finding my way with it a little, so hopefully I haven't over-done it too much :dunno:

Hi Richyrara,

Nice set of pics, I think you've got the colour balance ok, they look fine.
A little rainbow effect on #6 Typhoon shot, lovely.

p.s. Please say Rhymes is rubbish for photgraphy........then we can have it all to ourselves next year

You're quite right. Rhymes is rubbish - it's very noisy, you have to stand on a chair to photograph the runway, and a plane could fall on your head at any moment. Dreadful place. Don't go there.

Stunning Shots, great use of photomatix, not thought to use it to 'just' bump up the colour / saturation, must give it a go.
