RAF Waddington & RIAT 2013

Post by Lloyd H »

Selection of images from both Waddington and RIAT, found both difficult to shoot, especially Waddington with the light.

Waddington:
Spent the Saturday outside and Sunday in the Breitling tent, gave a good selection of images but after seeing the shots of the Viggen from inside on the Saturday I wish I'd done it the other way around.

1. Excellent display from Jamie Norris in the Typhoon, much better than RIAT IMHO

5. The best fast jet display by a country mile, the Solo Turk. His first pass over us on the dispersals was crazy!

RIAT:
Definitely didn't have a good time at RIAT, stayed until 3:00 on the Saturday and left and did no more than an hour on the Sunday so only a few shots.
The Saturday was spent at Rhymes and Sunday at Totterdown, I don't I'll bother going to Totterdown again too far away for 300mm.

Always enjoy your posts, everything is always so sharp, great Apache angle and the rainbow vapouring Rafale shots are works of art.

Your work is simply nothing less than an inspiration to photographers like myself wanting to push the boundaries. The difference in quality, detail and general likeability factor compared to my RIAT set is miles apart. You should be proud of these photos Lloyd, you and your Nikon in perfect harmony (with some editing on alternative PP web programs of course!).

Impossible to pick a favourite, stunning set.

Jack.
