Displays that I would really appreciated at RIAT or indeed at any other show. Swedish HF, Sentry, Sentinel, Canberra and Sea Vixen. Great coup to be the first Canberra display.
Superb combination. Can't make this one unfortunately - work gets in the way

Third visit to Jersey but for the first time I'm flying down and back same day and plan to view from Elizabeth Castle. Is anybody else doing this or am I the only lunatic here? Regardless would be good to meet anybody at the castle as I'm making the trip alone.

After a first attempted visit in 2011 (the year it was cancelled) we are trying again this year.

In 2011 I had intended to go out to the castle but I don't think you could get out there. This year the tide tables show a high tide at 1121 (BST) so I assume the only way out will be by the amphibious vehicle, so is the same problem going to arise? In 2011 we positioned ourselves outside the new hotel near the marina - is that any good as a location as it seems about the closest you can get to the display line (judging from the maps on the show website)?

Hi Ian
I went to the castle last year
Walked out boat back but you can do it both ways it's no trouble at all
From catle sun is behind you all day if I recall
Jersey has two display lines
Fast jet jet is close to castle and the other is closer to seashore so bit further away from castle - possibly too far
So you can chose - my preference is the castle though you do have to queue for the boats at the end which was ok for having the sun behind

We watched the B52 circle the island from the top of the castle last year then watched it run in for its display - great stuff

Just read on the Bournemouth thread that the pilot of the Sea Vixen has been recalled for military duty?

Any truth in this as it would be a great disappointment for Jersey?

Cheers

After a conversation with the operators of the Sea Vixen on Sunday evening, their intentions are to be at Jersey next Thursday

Changes to aircraft allocations from the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight, the J-29F Tunnan will no longer be appearing due to aircraft serviceability, instead the SWAFHF will be bringing their Hawker Hunter F.58

Many thanks for the update Bronco, much appreciated.

Out with the Tunnan in with the Hunter, pretty good swap if you ask me!

Yeah am quite happy with that, saw the Tunnan at Waddington earlier in the year, enjoyed the display but haven't seen their Hunter so rather happy with that

C17 has regrettably cancelled due to operational commitments, but will be replaced...

Timetable Version 1 is now online, but will change as some additional acts will be added over the coming days, keep an eye on the shows website for further updates as we approcach show day

PBY should look good flying over the water as it was intended to do, some low passes would be nice!

Excellent replacement! Looking forward to the show even more, just hope the weather plays ball!

Today's only arrival has been a RN Merlin, which will be on static display in People's Park on show day.

Other information, G-JOEY, one of Aurigny's Trislander's may be on airport static display tomorrow, whilst the Sea Vixen is expected to land 10am Thursday

Foxy Lady's FB page reports this morning that debris was found in [insert peoper part of the aircraft here - am at work now and can't access FB!] so she is unable to attend Jersey today.

Quick question - do the airdays for Jersey / Gurnsey tend to attract French items more readily due to their obvious proximity or not?

Cheers

Don't know too much about Gurnsey (and this is my first year at Jersey) but from what I've seen in the past from Jersey lists and reviews, they do seem to get more stuff from Europe

Unfortunately, Canberra will not be appearing in the show due to weather in the UK.
