Re: 2014 participants
How the hell will i have the time to watch them,as i will have been perusing and spending at the high end trade stalls, and then looking at lovely shiny Morris minors and ford Anglia's....,whilst munching on a burger from 2,000 % prime beef.
Don't bother running, you'll only die tired!!
Re: 2014 participants

I know I say this every year but you can also freely purchase trade day tickets. These can be purchased either on the day or in advance from the website. Only restriction is no under 16's, don't worry about making up a fake company, I have always done so. Also remember that the show will radically change on Wednesday/Thursday . If you want to see all the latest aircraft you need to visit Mon-Wed, Thursday will see a bit more of a mix as 'normal' acts arrive for Fri-Sun.
I have 2 weeks booked off work and will be there all arrivals week, RIAT departures on Monday and show here on Tuesday, and wednesday if my ticket works twice like last year!

Hi Farnboroughrob,
Apologies for sounding thick , but do you mean that the F'boro airshow website advertises trade day tickets other than the Friday event, and that another other option is to buy them on the day when you arrive? Have gone on the Friday's for the past couple of events as part of Friends of Farnborough, but would like to see what the other trade days, such as Wednesday have to offer this year.

Hi there are two ticket websites one for trade one for the public, trade tickets not on sale yet. yes you can buy them on the gate each day. As for which day depends on what you want to see? If you solely want to see the trade aircraft then Mon-Wed, thursday is a change round day with some of the public days aircraft arriving. I will be going Tuesday and possibly wednesday as wednesday is military day and will feature some visiting military bizjets. My advice would be to wear smart clothes and try and blend in with the suits.
Re: 2014 participants
Also use a business tag on your ID, not "Joe Bloggs Photography".... you get doors shut in your face in the trade stands if they think you are not an enthusiast.
I will be there Tuesday and Wednesday, booked my hotel today.

Should that be doors shut in your face if they think that you ARE an enthusiast?

What about when you show up with all your photo gear? Isn't that a good tell tail that you're an enthusiast?

That's a point.
I'd wear a suit if I had one!

Re: 2014 participants
Thanks for the feedback guys. Food for thought.
Re: 2014 participants
I have attended the trade days in previous years and never dressed in smart clothes or a suit. With the inclement weather in 2012 you needed decent warm outdoor clothing and waterproofs. I have always bought my trade tickets in advance.

Quite a number of the delegates have their own press teams with them, a number of the exhibitors bring camera gear too. It is also of note that press that wish to gain accreditation on the day (missed the deadline for free access applications) have to pay and go in as trade before reporting to the media centre.
Just dress smart and everything is fine. It does help if your company/organisation has some form of link to the aviation industry though!
