Naval Aviation GB - Revell 1/72 Fairey Swordfish++Finished++
I thought perhaps it was time to dip my toes back in to the UKAR GB scene.
This is Revell's reboxing of the old Matchbox kit. The same kit that I built when I came back to the hobby after the novelty of being married wore off.
Most of my modelling gets done in the morning before I go to work. This is where I was at yesterday.
Today I got a bit further.

Great to have you taking part again mate.

Wow Ken, you're not hanging around with this one!
Re: Naval Aviation GB - Revell 1/72 Fairey Swordfish
This morning I had an idea. I was just about to start the process of putting the top wing on when I thought 'I could rig the inside struts first, with no top wing in the way it will be easy.'
Now the top wing is on and setting. I'll find out later if it was a good idea or if I have once again been stupid.

It's starting to look the part now. The top wing is on and the interplane struts have been added. The inside struts are still rigged so it looks as if my idea worked and I have saved myself one lot of swearing.
I had a bit of a memory jerker when I added the engine. I cut these out of the inside of the cowl.
I always used to keep bits like this on the bench...it used to bug my old Dad for ages as he tried to figure out what the hell a bit like that would be used for. Now I'm using his bench I guess I'll keep these two around for a bit, just for the memories.

Calling this one done for now. I'm a lot happier with it than I was my first Swordfish.
A slight problem with the gun coming adrift, when I tried to re-fix it, it decided the best thing to do would be hide inside the fuselage...that's when the glue decided to work. Will have to try and get another but if you close one eye and squint with the other it looks okay.
More in the gallery.

Cheers, Alan. Next to hit the bench is a couple of Nieuport 17.
For the GB I can't decide between a Curtis SBC Helldiver (biplane) or a Sea Fury.

Rigging on a 1/72 scale!!!! I just couldn't imagine doing that. I have a hard enough time on 1/48 scale This one turned out real nice in the end.
