The Tristars last operational flight with the RAF (Updated)

Post by bigcrow »

Hi All

On Monday I was very lucky to be invited on the last operational tanking flight of a 216 Squadron Tristar from RAF Brize Norton. The final mission departed just before 11am when two Tristars FAGIN 11 (ZD948) and FAGIN 12 (ZD950) headed to Air to Air Refueling Area 8 (AARA 8) where FAGIN 11 the aircraft I was on board provided fuel to four Typhoons & a Tornado GR4. After refueling we carried out a flypast at Cambridge for Marshall Aerospace and Hurn for Cobham Plc who provided the air refueling system before returning to RAF Brize Norton.

Very nice especially the rasta jet.

Is that what all the cars in the big layby opposite the superhangar was about?
