Craig,
Is it National Don't Press the Full Stop Key Day today?

CONFIRMED flying display now up, it's the same as the provisional so the P-8 and f-18 ARE displaying.
Also, the B787-900 and SSJ are staying in the Static - YAY
The weather forecast is rapidly improving and now looks like, if we do get heavy rain / thunderstorms they will be over the show for 5-10 minutes at most.

The spontaneous applause and cheering from the "Joe Public" gathered at "The Swan" immediately following the Vulcan display would seem to indicate otherwise.....
nothing is confirmed at a show until its u/c hits the tarmac or it is running in for its display.....

Hardly surprising though is it?
The Harrier has been off the circuit for 4 years, and was always a crowd favourite.
I think you hit the nail on the head right there. That was as boring a Harrier display as ive ever seen, probably not helped by the venue, whilst this year the Vulcan (which has been on the scene for a good few years now) is as boring as its ever been. Credit to the Spanish Navy for sending them over, especially considering how well we support their shows

With dumb bombs and retarded bomblets, why don't they just use stupid missiles?
Pen Pusher wrote:Should have stuck to my original plan and leave before the Vulcan displayed. Wasn't worth staying for and it should be put out to pasture as soon as posible. Forgotten how impressive a hoooooovering Harrier is though. No vertical take off as it might damage the runway but lots of hooooooovering.
Brian
As I said in another thread, the Harrier display was nothing more than a non aerobatic 'demo', very reminiscent of the final RAF displays in 2010.
It's 'party piece' is always impressive, but like the Vulcan it was a shadow of it's displays in years gone by.

Take away Harrier and P8 ,and you have a pretty Lacklustre line-up, overly priced as always and getting more like a shadow of its former self year in year out. Not a patch on Fairford.

A few bits I was interested in, having never been to Farnborough before, but just had a look and seen that the gate price is actually £48!!!!!!! That is astonishing!
