My first tanker ride

Post by Bartek »

Due to Russian president madness NATO air forces are much more active over Poland than in past years. Since early spring we have permanent US detachment in Łask air base. Thanks to Av-Det PAO and 100th ARW PAO (this unit deployed KC-135R to Powidz air base) I got chance to catch Spangdalem Vipers refueling in LUCY zone located in central Poland as part of Baltops exercise. There were two waves in 8 hours so I spent "some" time in the air. It was my first tanker ride but thanks to friendly crews the results are not so bad I think:

A stunning set indeed Bartek and what an experience! I recall seeing some equally brilliant Mig 29 air to air shots of yours a while back - do you still have the link available by any chance?

Many thanks for that Bartek - as a Mig29 fanatic these are simply the best air to air shots ever!

Wow... Some very good photos in there - as has been said, it's very difficult to pick out any as being better than the others...

Would love to have an opportunity like that!!

So sharp, amazing. Well done, those pictures are the best. Even from people I know also getting this opportunity!

May I ask what gear (body and lens) you were using? It seems like they put in new glass for your ride, pics are that crisp....
