Gransden, Sywell & Farnborough + CWH Lancaster

Post by UK Airshow Review »

  • "Repetitive Strain" - Dan O'Hagan cast an eye over proceedings at a sold-out Little Gransden.

  • "Blowout" - Tom Lantaff donned the windproofs and headed to Northamptonshire.

  • "All Work & No Play" - Andy Evans attended the trade days for UK Airshow Review.

  • "Far From the Madding Crowd" - There's no question that it's the aviation event of the summer, indeed of several summers, but while the visit of Canadian Warplane Hertitage's Avro Lancaster has packed out airshow venues up and down the country, how many of us can actually claim to have had the view, access or photographic opportunity to do the aircraft and its legacy justice?

  • Pictures of the Week is online again as usual - a few weeks behind so there's more to come in the days ahead.

The Farnborough report mentions the M345 and M346 flew in formation with a SF-260TD? I can only assume this is a new unheard of turbo diesel version of the SF-260. :dunno:

They flew with the Blackshape Prime, a completely different type????

He never went away tbh - no longer on the forums, true, but he's always been in the background helping me run things. Quality of his written work is plain to see, and would be a huge loss to this website.

His photos are crap though. :handbag:

As I was saying, Dano was relieved of his official staff duties.

Oh :-( That's a shame. I was hoping everyone had come to their senses and started getting UKAR back to where it was. DanO was a significant, eloquent, knowledgeable and sometimes controversial (never in a negative way, in my opinion) part of what made UKAR great.

Reading the 'big two' threads at the moment is quite depressing. I know I don't have to read them, but I guess I need the threads for info more than they need me and there are some excellent posts in them both, it's just the bickering :-(

Can't we all just get on for the good of UKAR ?

Here's hoping,

Mark... the eternal optimist.
