The second shot, of Grosvenor House on the ground taken at a jaunty angle, is amongst the best I've seen of the aircraft.

So what was the story with the Gladiator wing - I thought I saw some silver fabric floating down during their display...

Someone in the crowd next to me alerted the ground crew to what appeared to be an open inspection hatch on the upper wing prior to the display. Someone went up onto the wing with a screwdriver to fix it back in place - looks like they didn't screw it in tight enough...

Amazing shots Harry.

Ouch! I wonder how easy it is to replace just a small piece of fabric? It was interesting reading that repairs to the Hurricane's birdstrike cost something like £2300 - these things are not cheap!

I doubt the wing is one continuous piece of fabric, and that it can be patched or replaced in sections, but with the paintwork too, that's not going to be a cheap fix.

I had noticed the tear in wing - My first photo of the Gladiator shows the patch flying off during the display. Here's another crop:
