I couldn't believe that XM655 has been at Wellesbourne for 30 years ! It looks like she's just come out of the factory.

Many thanks to the XM655 Maintenance and Preservation Society and Timeline Events for putting on a brilliant evening.

The airfield at Wellesbourne is under threat of development and needs as much support as possible, see here for more info: http://www.xm655.com/

Cheers, Paul

Great photos, and great setting.... shame the '558 'nightshoot' wasn't like this?

At last, a nightshoot that has been properly thought out and not just used as a chance to make some money with the minimum of effort. Excellent attention to detail from the organisers - '655 looks as though she could take off at a moment's notice.

Agree. However, It seems the prognosis for XM655 having a future at Wellesborne looks quite poor which must be a real worry for the volunteers who do such a great job on the Vulcan. It does beg the question as to what the options might be if the worst comes to the worst?

I'm really pleased this worked out for them after asking if people would be interested in the shoot.

655 is in lovely condition and is photogenic.

These shoots are cracking.

Lovely photos it looks like she was postioned very well. I was undecided on this event due to mainly the £50 price tag, I know it goes to the up keep of XM655 but I thought that was a little excessive.

In fairness to them, at least you can see where the money has gone on this shoot - sourcing authentic re-enactors uniforms, vehicles etc. Too many nightshoots involve plonking an aircraft under lights, and nothing more.

£50 does seem steep though, that's admission to two airshows!

The shoot was organised by Timeline Events. They run this kind of thing all over the UK raising money for aircraft owners, museums, preserved railways, owners of old buses, basically all things heritage. Check their website for more info. www.timelineevents.org

Thanks for the comments on the pictures, I have to say that it was worth every penny, I have never come away from an airshow feeling as pleased as I did on Saturday night. The attention to detail was unbelievable. When they fired up the APU and put the lights on, along with the noise and smell of the exhaust, it really could have been 30 years ago !

Best of luck to all the folks at Wellesbourne and thanks again Neil for yet another great event !!

Nice images, looked a good event. Can't knock the effort that's gone into making it as realistic as possible either. It's quite refreshing.

Thanks guys for all the positive feedback. And yes I know some feel the price is a bit high but I think the images speak for themselves. We will be looking at doing another next year and have today put the next Just Jane event on sale. Its not until 3rd of Oct 2015 so plenty of time yet.
