A visit to NAS Fallon Updated with more shots.

Post by Fumbles »

I'm finally home after a very large amount of driving in the SW USA.. We landed in Las Vegas and drove to NAS Fallon and then back down to Rainbow Canyon, spending a night in Oceanside California moving onto Yuma and then three days in Las Vegas to attend Nellis AFB open house. Once the show was over we drove out to Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon before flying back home from Las Vegas. Yeap there will be quite a few pictures to come of our travels over the next few weeks.

But first... I must put out a huge 'Thank you' to NAS Fallon's Zip Upham and his sidekick Paul. You guys really do know what photographers want with photographing aircraft. We had an awesome day visiting the base and will be down again on another one of the days you take people out. For now I have just sorted some shots of a very cool morning (-2 degrees) when we woke up! :ghost:
I'll get some more shots up if you all are interested?

Lovely shots

I was at Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon earlier in the year for my honeymoon, fabulous places and hoping to return in the not too distant future. Looking forward to seeing your shots

An exotic collection of nice aircraft in beautiful colour.

When you think of it, it's strange that the Russian's are still regarded as the "bad guys." I suppose someone has to wear the black stetson. :)

Many many thanks for the comments everyone and the views. This part of the trip was one of the main highlights for me since I have never been to NAS Fallon before. I'm glad you all like these shots.

Andy... Sorry to hear that you had some not so good luck on your visit to NAS Fallon or Nellis... Maybe on another visit when you can?
Phil... Ohh yes all those colourful F-16's, I actually bought the 'Top Falcons' kit for a future build because of this visit. :)
Shaggy... Glad to hear you had a good day at Fallon on Monday and it sure was good to meet you guys at Rainbow Canyon and again in Vegas. Did you get a chance to visit the gun store? If you did, hopefully you had a good time.
Airwolfhound... Monument Valley was a blast... our only problem was that we had a massive wind-storm go through so most of my pictures of the place looks like a sandstorm so we will return there again maybe during a Red Flag in the New Year.
Mike.... You got to make it over for a visit one of these times when Ian is in the area.. You would have a great time.

So on with a last update.... Hope you guys don't get to board of Fallon shots... I'll be working on Vegas shots tonight and Wednesday night before flying back to Vegas on Thursday for a friends surprise 45th birthday.

As usual Comments and Criticism always welcome good or bad.
